Russian drone kills 14 on crowded Dnipro railway platform

A Russian jet-powered drone struck a crowded platform at Dnipro’s main railway station on Thursday, killing at least 14 people and wounding 14, Ukrainian authorities said. State railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia said a commuter train was preparing to depart. Six of the injured were in severe condition, including an 11-year-old boy, according to the regional governor cited by Reuters and ABC Australia.
The station attack was part of a wider day of strikes. Two teenage girls were killed and 23 people wounded in Chernihiv, while three people died and 32 were wounded in Kremenchuk, local officials said. A later missile strike in Kyiv killed one person. Russia has repeatedly denied deliberately targeting civilians; it had not publicly provided an account of the Dnipro strike at publication.
The attack came while a limited, US-brokered humanitarian truce continued around Russian-held Oleshky in Kherson region and officials discussed restarting three-way peace talks. Those diplomatic steps did not amount to a nationwide ceasefire. The confirmed immediate facts are the location, weapon described by Ukrainian investigators and reported casualties; legal responsibility for any war crime requires a full investigation.
