Three people were wounded at a post-secondary college in Warsaw on Saturday, Polish police said. Reuters reported that the suspect was a 21-year-old student. One injured person went to hospital with wounds that were not life-threatening; two others did not require hospitalisation, according to a police spokesperson.

The incident came during a nationwide security response to two earlier attacks. On Wednesday a teenager attacked people at a school in Ostroleka. On Thursday a 15-year-old killed a caretaker and injured two adults at his former school in Leszczydol-Nowiny.

Police said they had inspected roughly 50,000 facilities and detained 76 people as part of their preventive response. Those detentions concern a range of threats and incidents; they are not evidence that dozens of people participated in Saturday’s attack.

The Associated Press reported that authorities had found no official confirmation linking the assaults or establishing an organised online challenge. Investigators still need to establish motives and any connections between the cases.
