Israel vote count leaves Netanyahu bloc short of a majority

With about 84.5% of ballot boxes counted, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-wing bloc was on 54 seats, the Jewish-led opposition grouping around Gadi Eisenkot on 49 and Arab-majority parties on 17, according to results reported by the Times of Israel. The distribution remains below the 61 seats required for a governing majority.
The Associated Press, Financial Times and Guardian described the count as a rebuke to Netanyahu without a clear alternative coalition. Final seat allocations can still change as remaining ballots and threshold calculations are completed. Party statements claiming victory do not establish that their leaders can form a government; that depends on certified results and subsequent coalition agreements.
“Israeli election results” reached a 2K+ search bucket in India and 500+ in Australia during Google Trends’ preceding four-hour window. The likely question is who won. The accurate answer remains that no governing winner is established: Netanyahu’s bloc leads the Jewish-party groupings but is short of a majority, and Eisenkot would need support or cooperation across parties that have not committed to governing together.
